Where to now with pasture fertiliser programs, and other pasture inputs?

Using a number of inputs has taken our pasture forward from where they were 30 or 40 years ago.  Our experience with fertiliser test strips last year was not very encouraging for using fertiliser in 2011.  Does it make sense to keep the money in your pocket, or spend it on something else such as grass seed?  Generally we believe we need to be continually reinvesting in our business to keep it profitable and viable.
