We have had 77mm last Monday 25 May, Moyston.
Another 40 mm this week beginning the 1 June still not runoff into the dam.
I can verify that as I have been trying to plant the crops and at the moment can not spray.
Yippeeee our dam is nearly full.
Rainfall at Wareek 40.5 for week with 71.5 for month and 317 mls for the year so far. This still looks like being short of “average” (proir to predicted ten year drought) of 500 mls for the year.
However with a look accross Australia the view can be taken that the drought appears to be slowly ending and given that the last flow of water in this district was October 1999 then a flow during October will make Indigo Jones (who died in 1953) a legend.
I am certainly glad I took notice of his prediction!
Guess I (and Indigo Jones) called it right, the drought certainly appears to be breaking as we have had the biggest flood here for thirty years and all the dams are full.
We have feed growing here like Spring has already arrived; the best Autumn feed I can remember. Rainfall last month = 59mls but this month to date 80mls making 192mls (over 7.5 inches) so far for 2010.
